SAMPLE WEDDING DAY

timeline

Knowing what time to schedule each event at, which things should be happening, in what order and how long each event takes can be SO overwhelming! GIIIRL! I feel you!

I have put together a sample timeline based on doing a first look, a 2pm ceremony and the reception at 5pm.  Obviously each day is different and these times may not line up with your day at all but hopefully it will help with making a flow that works for you! We will chat closer to your day about your final timeline and make sure we find one that works! :)

GETTING READY

GETTING READY

12:00pm

When planning the getting ready photos plan to have me arrive about an hour before you are scheduled to leave to your ceremony or first look! This way I have time to photograph all the little details (See the getting ready section with a list of items to have on hand), finishing touches of hair and make up, fun casual group shots and of course the moment of getting in your dress.

FIRST LOOK

FIRST LOOK

Your first look will usually take about 30 minutes. My assistant and I will get your groom into position and from there we will guide you through the process and photograph that very special moment as your groom sees you for the first time! Once we are good to continue we will utilize this time to get a few portraits of you both before the next big step of the day!

If time allows for it we can also complete some wedding party pictures during this time depending on how you want it laid out and if there is enough time after the ceremony.

CEREMONY

CEREMONY

During your ceremony I will be positioned at the front in order to get everyone walking down the aisle. And my second photographer will be positioned at the back on one of the sides to get another angle during this time. Throughout the rest of the ceremony we will be capturing all the important moments as well as some guest reactions from different angles. Don’t worry we don't get close enough to spoil what your guests see! I always HIGHLY suggest encouraging an unplugged ceremony, nothing is worse then providing a photograph of your first kiss only to see everyone holding their ipads & iphones during that time.

FAMILY PHOTOS

2:30pm

It is recommended to complete the family photos right after the ceremony when everyone is in the same location. The average time allotted for family photos is usually 30 minutes. This is based on photographing different groupings of immediate family only. (Parents, siblings & grandparents) If you are hoping to include extended family members please allot more time. In order not to take away from your portrait time, we can get many more photos of guests and other family members during the reception.

3:00pm

PORTRAITS

After your family photos are all done, we will take your wedding party away from the crowd, I usually recommend 30-45 minutes for all kinds of different groupings and individual shots with your wedding party. From there they can be sent back to the reception and we will continue with just portraits of the two of you. A minimum of 30 minutes is encouraged but 45 is ideal! This is your wedding day and these are the photos you don't want to cut short on. *Consider drive time if the desired location is offsite.

5:00pm

RECEPTION

If your reception is set up earlier in the day one of the photographers will be able to get decor shots of all the details you have put into it! Decor shots can really add to telling your story in the long run so even allotting 20 minutes prior to the ceremony to do this while no one is in the reception area would be a great time and something to consider.

Depending on the amount of hours you chosen, plan what you want photographed to happen within the time I am there. Throughout the reception we will be photographing photos of guests and candid moments as well as the formalities! We can of course go over your reception timeline in more detail as it gets closer to your day.
